Palace of the Shirvanshahs

After the Shirvanshahs moved their residence from Shamakhi to Baku, a palace complex was built on the highest point of the fortress. It consists of several courtyards uniting buildings from different periods. Its stone carvings and inscriptions are the finest examples of the Shirvan-Absheron school of architecture.
