By air
The main gateway to Azerbaijan is Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD) in Baku, about 25 km from the city centre, reachable by express bus, taxi or rental car. The airports of Ganja, Nakhchivan, Lankaran, Gabala and Zagatala also serve international and domestic flights.
Visa
Citizens of many countries can obtain an electronic visa online through the ASAN Visa system. Please check the current visa regime with official sources before travelling.
By train and car
Baku is connected by rail with Georgia (Tbilisi). Regular buses and minibuses to the regions depart from the Baku International Bus Terminal.
Getting around
Baku has a metro, buses and taxis. Public transport fares are paid with the BakıKART card.
